ADHD Family Support Services

The ADD/ADHD diagnosis is a physical disability in which the individual has limited access to the frontal lobe of their brain. As a result, they are unable to concentrate, have negative thoughts, are unable to control their impulses and are easily bored. All of this combined, causes an inability to "attend" to tasks and often results in negative behavior. These individuals use conflict and confrontation to increase their adrenaline that in turn increases concentration, which in turn often results in negative behavior. Families with these children are often overwhelmed, chaotic, frustrated and unhappy.

Currently we have the following services available at our facilities for families:

East Valley Family Resource Center

Parenting Children with ADHD – this 7-week class focuses on the signs and symptoms of ADHD, getting help for your child, treating ADHD at home and school and medication information.

All classes are free and pre-registration is required. For more information, check the descriptions and schedules of classes (Program Schedule) in this section.
