“On June 23, 2012 NYC Swim will present the annual 28.5 Mile Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. This is its longest and premier event of the season, a full counter-clockwise circumnavigation of the island of Manhattan. A very limited group of swimmers from around the world are competing including swimmers from Italy, South Africa, Northern Ireland, England, United Kingdom, Poland, Denmark and 14 different American states. Kent Nicholas dedicated the swim to the Child Crisis Center and is believed to be the first Arizonan to ever compete in this premier marathon swim event.”
