Volunteers Thanked at Annual Recognition Dinner
250 people gathered at The Phoenix Zoo to pay tribute to the outstanding volunteers of the Child Crisis Center. The theme was "Our Volunteers are ZOO-pendous!" and many people came dressed in animal prints. Guests had the chance to interact with small animals and their trainers as they mingled outside. Many volunteers were honored with special awards for their work at the Center.
- Lyle Hawk received the Friend of the Children award for his commitment to character development each Sunday morning with our Big Kids and Middlers for the last 4 years. He uses wisdom and humor to teach our kids life lessons which will benefit them now and for years to come. He is truly making a difference.
- John Benedict received the Friend of the Center award for his numerous contributions over the last 21 years. John has been our Board President, has served on the Foundation Board and has been with us for many "firsts" of the Center. His positive impact on the Center will be felt for years to come.
